» 2011 word tracker
16 January, 2011.
I'm a member of a community on LiveJournal which lets you "pledge" for year-round wordcount goals and offers advice and support throughout the year as its members work towards those goals. I made a tracker for myself to use this year, and since it turned out pretty well, I put it up online so others can use it. So, if you want to track your word count this year, feel free to use it. Link and preview:
Go to the download page or download the .zip file directly.
It's a zipped .xls file, so you can use it with Microsoft Excel and OpenOffice. Instructions are included; there's a separate sheet for each month, and basically, you fill in your year's goal on the start page and the form will calculate your monthly targets based on that. You can also adjust each month's goal manually if you prefer. Then you fill in your daily word count in the relevant box, and the form will calculate your monthly and yearly progress, percentages, average words written, and a few other stats. I hope there aren't any bugs left in it, but if you find one, let me know and I'll fix it.
